How do you upload a video from a camcorder to an editing software?
Jess asked:
I’m using a USB cable, and I’ve uploaded everything that came with the camcorder. Now everytime I try to ‘capture’ the video and upload it to my video editor, it says that ‘no video capture device is detected’ even though the camcorder is hooked up to the computer by way of a USB cable. Help?

You need to install the camcorders drivers.

More then likely that your camera doesn’t support capturing video from the tape though the USB cable. Most cameras don’t. What you need to do instead is to capture the video through the firewire or IEEE 1394 port. If your computer does not have one I’ve included a link below where you can get one. Once you know you have the port, you will need to buy a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable. I’ve included a link to that below as well. After that open windows movie maker ( or whatever program you use) and capture the video. Good luck!
